Sunday evening was filled with energy and elegance as socialite Sheilah Gashumba, popularly known as Lil Stunner, marked her 30th birthday with the world’s luxury tequila, Don Julio.
The celebration took place at the Mediterraneo rooftop, where friends, family, and Kampala’s social elite gathered to celebrate Lil Stunner’s milestone.
Guests were treated to an immersive experience by the UBL advocacy team, which offered a short “trip to Mexico,” demonstrating simple cocktail recipes using Don Julio tequila.
UBL Reserve Brand Manager Steve Baguma guided attendees on creating at-home drinks like Margaritas and Palomas, highlighting why the Don Julio Blanco variant is ideal for tasting the tequila in cocktails.
“Tequila is a versatile spirit, just like the lady of the moment—Sheila. It can be used in many different ways, but cocktails with Blanco allow the consumer to taste the tequila in its purest form,” Baguma explained.
He added that other variants—Reposado, Anejo, and 1942—are equally enjoyable, either neat or in cocktails, though their aged flavors make the tequila less pronounced in mixed drinks.
As the party continued, guests enjoyed the pinnacle Don Julio 1942, with creative bottle deliveries adding flair to the celebration.
Lil Stunner then took the stage for a birthday toast, raising a flute of 1942 to her guests.
“A big shout out to everyone that has taken off time to come and celebrate with me today, thank you so much. Y'all look amazing,” she said.
“In a special way, I want to thank Don Julio for not only being a big part of this celebration, but for playing a big role in my career over the past few months. I hope this can become the norm in the years to come.”
The evening’s entertainment included performances by DJ NEL, a Don Julio influencer from South Africa, and Kampala’s top DJs, including Selector Jay, Spinny, Dash, City Girl, and Anslem.
Their sets blended Hip-hop, Afrohouse, Amapiano, Dancehall, EDM, and Garage music, keeping the rooftop crowd dancing under the stars.
